Job description

Summary:

The primary requirements of the Mixer Operator are to properly mix and process compounds through the mixer within allowable specifications.

What Success Looks Like:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Necessity for attention to detail. 
  • Operate assigned machinery and equipment safely and efficiently
  • Follow standard operating procedures (SOPs) and work instructions
  • This job requires the operator to lift bags, weighing a maximum of 55 lbs. out of a transfer wagon and stage them on the charge conveyor three to five feet away.
  • The operator will need to manually adjust the location of the bale on the conveyor. The position requires repetitive motion sweeping and scarping the mixer.  Requires the operator to communicate with the additional staff member.
  • Responsible for operation of the Mixer, Skid unloader, Bale Cutter, Weigh Conveyor and Charge conveyor.
  • Following production schedule and maintaining pace as outlined in mixing procedures.
  • Assist in establishing and maintaining compound processing procedures.
  • Fill out any applicable paperwork.
  • Empty oil buckets on the mezzanine.
  • Assist in staging and organizing raw materials.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work area (5S standards)
  • Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Adhere to all safety policies and wear required PPE
  • Capable of maintaining quality control by monitoring production output.
  • Ability to identify any issues with the product or process.
  • Additional tasks as assigned by the Shift Supervisor
  • Operating a forklift for various functions.

Your Credentials:

  • One or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
  • High School or GED preferred
  • Willing to work overtime including weekends as needed
  • Close visual work required.
  • Knowledge of general computer skills.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, and use upper extremities while occasionally sitting, crouching, and bending.
  • Ability to climb stairs, lift up to 50 pounds and perform necessary job tasks.

The hourly rate for this position is $18 per hour, plus $1.00/hour shift premium for 2nd and/or 3rd shift.   

 3rd shift - 10:45pm - 7:00am
