Summary: A balance operator is responsible for operating and maintaining a balance machine that measures the amount of imbalance in a rotating part and makes weight corrections until the part is balanced.
THIS POSITION IS DAY SHIFT. IT STARTS AT $25.00 PER HOUR WITH POTENTIAL TO START HIGHER WITH EXPERIENCE
Responsibilities:
  • Balance paper machine rolls to required specifications by manufacturing and installing precise weights determined by the balancing machine readout.
  • Look for improvements in process.
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.

Requirements:
  • Demonstrate basic computer knowledge to operate the balancing machine and fill out final reports.
  • Demonstrate mathematical ability required figure out the proper location and amount of weight to complete the balancing process.
  • Proficient at reading blueprints.

Education and Experience:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Vocational School graduate in machine shop practices, or equivalent is a plus.

Physical demands:
  • Prolonged periods standing and performing repetitive tasks.
  • Able to lift up to 70 pounds at a time.
  • Have manual dexterity in order to operate machines as directed.
  • Have excellent hand-eye coordination.
  • Wear gloves and ear protection.
