  • Engage with patients to conduct thorough evaluations, understand their physical challenges, and review their medical history.
  • Diagnose movement dysfunctions and collaborate with the patient to create customized treatment plans that align with their goals.
  • Use various physical therapy techniques, including therapeutic exercises, manual therapy, and modalities to facilitate healing.
  • Educate and guide patients in the proper techniques for exercises and the correct use of assistive devices such as walkers and wheelchairs.
  • Monitor patient progress through regular assessments, adjusting treatment plans as necessary to ensure optimal recovery outcomes.
  • Maintain detailed records of patient evaluations, interventions, and progress notes, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Advise patients and their families on recommended in-home treatment options and exercises, promoting engagement in their recovery.
Patient Population / Client Focus

You will work with a diverse patient population, which includes individuals recovering from surgery, trauma, stroke, and chronic pain conditions. Your role is critical in helping these clients overcome their limitations and achieve their rehabilitation objectives. Each day may present unique challenges as you adapt your approach to meet the varied needs and circumstances of each individual.

Qualifications
  • A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree or equivalent.
  • A valid physical therapy license in the state of Virginia.
