Key Responsibilities

As a Physical Therapist at Happy Body Therapy, your primary responsibilities will include:

• Conducting thorough assessments of patients’ physical conditions to gain insights into their strengths and limitations.
• Diagnosing movement dysfunction and devising individualized treatment plans that address specific patient needs.
• Instructing patients on effective therapeutic exercises and mobility techniques to promote independence.
• Administering supportive therapies, including manual massage and therapeutic modalities, to facilitate healing.
• Guiding patients in the safe use of mobility aids such as wheelchairs, walkers, and other assistive devices.
• Documenting patient progress meticulously, monitoring outcomes, and making necessary adjustments to treatment plans.
• Offering professional advice and educational resources to patients and their families regarding home care strategies and exercises.

Patient Population / Client Focus

Our patients include a diverse range of individuals, from those recovering from injuries and surgeries to individuals managing chronic conditions or seeking preventive care. You will work directly with both children and adults, requiring a tailored approach that recognizes the unique needs of each demographic. Our therapists play a crucial role in empowering patients to achieve their rehabilitation goals through personalized care.

Qualifications

To qualify for this position, candidates should possess:

• A Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
• A valid state license to practice physical therapy in Virginia.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective interaction with patients and team members.
• Proficiency in computer software used for patient documentation and scheduling.
• Flexibility to adapt treatment sessions to meet the evolving needs of patients.

Preferred Experience

While we welcome applications from recent graduates, candidates with a minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting will be given preference. Experience in outpatient rehabilitation, working with orthopedic and neurological patients, is particularly desirable.
