Kaminsky's Dessert Cafe is now hiring an Experienced Cake Decorator
The Homegrown Hospitality Group is looking for an Experienced Cake Decorator to prepare a variety of desserts. Your skill in baking high quality treats should be matched by your creativity to develop new amazing tastes and recipes. The ideal candidate will be well-versed in culinary arts with a passion for sweet and delicious creations. They must adhere to health and safety standards to provide clients with the best possible serving.
The goal is to enhance customer satisfaction so that we can maintain and expand our clientele.
The Homegrown Hospitality Group consists of 9 different business concepts and over 15 locations located throughout South Carolina in Charleston, Columbia, and Myrtle Beach. Multiple concepts, multiple locations, one big family!

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Prepare a wide variety of goods such as cakes, cookies, pies, milkshakes etc. following traditional and modern recipes
  • Create new and exciting desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers and ensures the knowledge of the team on these recipes
  • Decorate pastries using different icings, toppings etc. to ensure the presentation will be beautiful and exciting
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients such as flour, sugar etc. and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Check quality of material and condition of equipment and devices used for cooking
  • Guide and motivate pastry assistants and bakers to work more efficiently
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
  • Oversees the cleanliness, labeling, temperature holding of all product in house per DHEC standards and works to coach and develop their team in the same areas
  • Teamwork with coworkers, adding to a culture of fun, and attendance of staff meetings
  • Works directly with the General Manager of the restaurant to execute all upcoming events, special requests, and general business needs
  • Coordinates the schedules of the back of house bakers and pastry chef

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Proven cake decorating skills, including frosting, piping, and fondant work.
  • Ability to follow instructions and execute designs accurately.
  • Strong attention to detail and artistic flair.
  • Ability to work efficiently and manage time effectively.
  • Preferred:
  • Formal training in cake decorating or pastry arts.
  • Portfolio demonstrating cake decorating skills.
  • Experience working in a bakery or commercial kitchen.
  • Experience with advanced decorating techniques (e.g., airbrushing, sugar work).

SALARY RANGE
