Apprentices work alongside experienced bakers, learning techniques such as mixing dough, baking bread and pastries, and operating bakery equipment. These programs typically last from one to three years, depending on the region and bakery. Upon completion, apprentices are often equipped with the experience and certifications required to pursue a career in baking or advance to higher positions within the industry.
