INSIDE UPHOLSTERER / TRIMMER

Job Type: Full-Time | Non-Exempt

Position Summary

Baker Furniture is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Inside Upholsterer / Trimmer to join our manufacturing team in High Point, North Carolina. This role is responsible for applying decorative nail trim and finishing details to high-end upholstered furniture while maintaining exceptional craftsmanship and quality standards.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with luxury furniture, decorative trim applications, skirts, bullion, tape, fringe, and brass detailing. Precision, consistency, and pride in workmanship are essential for success in this position.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Apply decorative nail trim to upholstered furniture using pneumatic nail guns and hand-driving techniques
  • Perform finishing applications including bullion, tape, fringe, and skirts
  • Position furniture units on lifts or bucks for trimming operations
  • Inspect furniture pieces prior to trim application to ensure readiness and quality standards are met
  • Read production tickets and select the correct trim materials and nail styles
  • Hand-start corners and straight lines to ensure accurate trim alignment
  • Adjust staple lines as needed to ensure proper trim coverage
  • Correct uneven nail placement using hand tools such as hammers and flathead screwdrivers
  • Maintain and clean nail guns, nail hoppers, and work equipment
  • Keep work area clean, organized, and safe at all times
  • Move completed units to designated staging areas for the next production process
  • Follow all company safety procedures and guidelines to prevent workplace injuries
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and production staff to meet quality and production goals

Qualifications & RequirementsRequired Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 2+ years of experience working with high-end or luxury furniture (Required)
  • Trimmer Experience: 2 years (Required)
  • Experience with:
    • Decorative nail trim
    • Brass trim applications
    • Upholstered furniture finishing
    • Skirts and trim detailing
  • Strong attention to detail and craftsmanship
  • Ability to use hand tools and pneumatic equipment safely and effectively
  • Ability to stand, bend, lift, and perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in upholstery finishing techniques and decorative applications
  • Outside Upholstery experience is a plus.
