The Cambria Hotel in Detroit is expanding and looking for a dynamic and energetic Baker to join our team! About Detroit Cambria:
The Cambria Hotel in Detroit features upscale amenities that appeal to modern travelers, including immersive, spa-style bathrooms with Bluetooth mirrors - Contemporary and sophisticated guest rooms complete with: modern fixtures, abundant lighting, and plush bedding, multiple food and beverage options, flexible meeting and event space, a state-of-the-art fitness center, and locally inspired designs.
Job Summary:
The Baker is responsible for preparing baked goods and desserts to support all food and beverage outlets across the Cambria Detroit Hotel. The primary focus is banquet production, with additional support provided to other hotel outlets as needed.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Prepare all baked goods, pastries, and desserts in accordance with applicable health, safety, and hygiene codes and standards.
  • Produce high-quality banquet desserts as the primary function of the role.
  • Prepare an assortment of pastries for display cases and grab-and-go dessert offerings.
  • Prepare wedding cakes and specialty desserts for banquet and event functions.
  • Assist other hotel food outlets with baked goods and dessert production as needed.
  • Maintain and inspect baking equipment and utensils; recommend repairs or replacements as needed.
  • Ensure consistent quality and presentation in all baked goods daily.
  • Work closely with the culinary team to execute menu items and contribute to menu development.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked baking station.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
