Job Title:  BIM Coordinator

Location: Fully Remote (must be EST) 

Duration: 6+ Months

Pay rate: $65/hr. on W2


Job Description:

Primary Functions

Coordinate activities and project workflows for spatial coordination across all disciplines.

Ensure that partial BIM models from the various Task Teams align correctly and are fully integrated.

Set up the modelling environment defined by the Task Information Manager and maintain it throughout the project.

Drive clash detection, clash avoidance, and the coordinated resolution of design issues.

Facilitate communication and collaboration among the project Task Teams.


Key Responsibilities:

Model Coordination

  • Perform model coordination and set up linked models across disciplines.
  • Set up the modelling environment defined by the Task Information Manager.
  • Check the various partial BIM models for consistency and completeness.
  • Perform clash detection and coordinate the resolution of design issues.
  • Provide daily model management, administration, and maintenance.


Standards & Convention Control

  • Monitor and control the application of modelling conventions across the Task Teams.
  • Ensure adherence to BIM standards and protocols throughout the project.
  • Verify the model Level of Information Need (LOIN) and the related drawings.
  • Coordinate and manage the project set-up.


Issue & Interface Management

  • Resolve spatial coordination issues with the Task Teams’ Interface Managers.
  • Escalate unresolved coordination issues to the Design / Construction Lead.
  • Keep the Task Team updated with agreed resolutions and the progress of on-going resolution.
  • Apply clash-avoidance strategies to prevent issues before they arise.

Coordination Meetings & Collaboration

  • Conduct regular BIM coordination meetings to communicate project changes and resolve design conflicts and issues.
  • Facilitate effective communication and collaboration between the different Delivery Teams.
  • Oversee the collaborative efforts of the various Delivery Teams and disciplines.
  • Manage the organisation and maintenance of the BIM models.


Qualifications:

  • Strong understanding of construction processes.
  • Problem-solving and analytical thinking.
  • Ability to adapt to new technologies as well as evolving workflows.
  • Skilled user of BIM software with detailed knowledge of multidisciplinary coordination.
  • Strong attention to detail and a problem-anticipation mindset.
  • Background in pharmaceutical, industrial, or mission-critical technical environments is beneficial.
  • ISO Knowledge
  • Practical understanding of the ISO 19650 series and its application to information management and project delivery.
  • Working knowledge of IFC-based information exchange principles (ISO 16739).


Software Proficiency

  • Proficient in using BIM authoring tools to provide technical support.
  • Expertise in BIM software for spatial coordination tasks (e.g. Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, Model Coordination).
  • Proficient in collaborative platforms and CDE (Autodesk Format).
