What You'll Work On

A Mechanic II maintains, repairs, and services manufacturing andfacility systems.

  • Perform skilled maintenance and repair services of manufacturing andfacility systems such as mechanical and building systems

  • Interpret blueprints and schematics

  • Implement methods, practicesand techniques of maintaining building and facilities to identify and address recurring problems with machinery, equipmentor parts

  • Conduct periodic inspections to evaluate requests for repair

  • Adhere to current sanitation andGMP requirements

  • Maintain current status on all required training

You'll be accountable for meeting our compliance standards including FDA, OSHA and Abbott policies and procedures

Required Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • 1+ years of previous experiencewith machine repair in a manufacturing environment

  • Understanding of mechanical system, mechanical and spatial aptitude

  • Ability to troubleshoot and determine the cause of improper machine operation and make necessary adjustments and repairs to return to proper operation

  • Knowledge of fluid and hydraulic systems

  • Knowledge of proper lubrication procedures with oil and grease

  • Demonstrated seamer proficiency

  • Attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Diploma

  • Predictive Maintenance experience/training

  • Backflow Prevention certified by Michigan Mechanics and Plumbers and Construction Association

  • Seamer certified via formal Angelus or Pneumatic Scale Seamer School
