Job description

Title:   Backend Software Engineer II         Location:  Orlando (Fully On Site)

Reports To:  VP, Development                 FLSA Status: Exempt

Position Description:  We are looking for a Mid-Level Backend Software Engineer with strong experience in building scalable backend systems using microservices architecture and message queue technologies. The ideal candidate should have solid development skills in C#/.NET, a good understanding of distributed systems, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced engineering environment. This role will contribute to the design, implementation, and optimization of backend services that power real-time, data-driven applications.

 

Position Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust backend services using C# and .NET Core within a microservices-based architecture.
  • Integrate and work with message queue systems such as RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or similar for asynchronous processing and event-driven workflows.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define service interfaces, data contracts, and integration flows.
  • Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code following best practices.
  • Build and optimize SQL queries and work with relational databases to support backend functionality.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Implement RESTful APIs and ensure secure, performant communication between services.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot deployed services, ensuring high availability and reliability.
  • Contribute to CI/CD processes, automated testing, and deployment workflows.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of hands-on experience in C#/.NET software development.
  • Practical experience designing and implementing microservices in a distributed system.
  • Solid understanding of message queue systems (e.g., RabbitMQ, Azure Service Bus, Kafka, or similar).
  • Proficiency in working with SQL Server or other relational databases including schema design and query optimization.
  • Familiarity with RESTful APIs, HTTP, and authentication methods (OAuth, JWT, etc.).
  • Working knowledge of version control (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a collaborative mindset.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Azure or other cloud environments for deploying and managing microservices.
  • Knowledge of unit testing and integration testing using frameworks such as xUnit, Moq
  • Familiarity with logging frameworks such as Serilog, NLog, or Microsoft.Extensions.Logging.
  • Willingness to learn new technologies, contribute to design discussions, and take ownership of assigned tasks.
