Job description

Filter of Hope is a global Great Commission ministry with a mission to share the gospel of Jesus Christ and provide clean drinking water to families in desperate need of both in over 80 countries. Weโ€™re looking for an Accounting Manager to oversee daily accounting operations, manage financial reporting, and ensure accuracy and compliance across all systems. www.filterofhope.org

Position Summary:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing all day-to-day accounting functions at Filter of Hope. This role ensures the accuracy and integrity of financial records, prepares financial reports, and supports leadership in managing budgets, audits, and compliance for our growing ministry.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily accounting operations, including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and bank reconciliations.
  • Prepare financial statements.
  • Assist with annual budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
  • Support preparation for annual audits and 990 tax filings.
  • Maintain accurate records in QuickBooks and oversee data integration from other systems (e.g., Fundraise Up, HubSpot, Go Method).

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors in Accounting or Finance, CPA or Masters preferred
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience; work history in ministry or the nonprofit space preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit financial reporting.
  • Proficiency with QuickBooks and Excel; experience with Fundraise Up or similar systems a plus.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and committed to integrity and accuracy.
