Pay: Base Pay + Uncapped Commission + Bonuses = Expected Earnings: $65,000 - $250,000+ per year

We are looking for a true hunter who gets excited about finding opportunities, starting conversations, and winning new business.  We’re looking for the type of person who would rather be spending their day out meeting people, solving their problems, and closing deals rather than sitting behind a desk.

At Phelps, you’ll have the freedom to run your territory like it’s your own business.  You’ll be out in the field building relationships, identifying opportunities, and helping businesses find solutions that make their operations run smoother and look more professional.

If you’re motivated by earning potential, competition, and the satisfaction of building a book of business that’s truly your own, this could be the role for you!

We are firm believers that we need to be a fit for YOU just as much as you are a fit for us at Phelps.  SO let’s be transparent about what this role is and what it isn’t.

What You’ll Do

  • Prospecting new business and growing market share within your territory
  • Cold calling, door knocking, networking, and setting appointments with decision-makers
  • Learning about customers' businesses and identifying opportunities to help
  • Conducting facility assessments and presenting customized solutions they can count on
  • Building proposals, negotiating agreements, and closing deals
  • Managing your pipeline and documenting activity in our CRM
  • Spending most of your time in the field meeting potential customers
  • Consistently hitting revenue goals and growing your book of business

What We’re Looking For

You might be a great fit if:

  • You love the thrill of the chase
  • You'd rather create opportunities than wait for them
  • You like having autonomy and managing your own day
  • You are competitive and motivated by results
  • You enjoy building relationships but aren't afraid to ask for the business
  • You want your paycheck to reflect your effort

What You Must Have:

  • At least 3 years of successful B2B outside sales experience
  • Experience selling value-added solutions
  • CRM experience preferred
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Bachelor’s in Business, Sales, or Marketing is a plus
  • Must hold a valid driver’s license, be at least 21 years old, and maintain a safe MVR record required.

Reality of the Role:

This job involves:

  • Frequent driving throughout your territory
  • Walking throughout customer facilities
  • Sitting, standing, driving, being on the move throughout the day
  • Lifting up to 20 lbs occasionally
