What is B2B marketing?

B2B marketing, or business-to-business marketing, refers to the strategies and practices used by companies to promote their products or services to other businesses rather than individual consumers. This type of marketing often involves longer sales cycles, relationship-building, and targeting decision-makers within organizations. B2B marketing can include channels such as email campaigns, trade shows, content marketing, and account-based marketing. The main goal is to generate leads, nurture relationships, and ultimately drive sales between businesses.

What are some common challenges faced by B2B marketing professionals when aligning sales and marketing teams?

One common challenge B2B Marketing professionals encounter is ensuring consistent communication and alignment between marketing and sales teams. Differences in goals, key metrics, and lead definitions can sometimes cause friction or inefficiencies. To overcome this, many organizations adopt regular interdepartmental meetings, shared KPIs, and collaborative planning sessions to foster alignment. Building strong relationships and maintaining open channels for feedback are also crucial for jointly driving pipeline growth and improving conversion rates.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a B2B marketing professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a B2B Marketing professional, you need a strong foundation in market research, lead generation, content strategy, and an understanding of sales funnels, typically supported by a degree in marketing or business. Familiarity with CRM platforms (like Salesforce), marketing automation tools (such as HubSpot or Marketo), and analytics systems is essential. Excellent communication, relationship-building, and project management skills help you stand out in engaging stakeholders and driving campaigns. These competencies are vital for developing effective strategies that generate high-quality leads, nurture client relationships, and drive business growth.

Job description

Head of B2B Marketing
ImagineArt • San Francisco • Full-time • On-site
About ImagineArt
We're redefining how the world creates and designs.
ImagineArt is one of the fastest-growing GenAI companies in the world. We've scaled faster than most funded startups - with zero outside funding.
  • $35M+ ARR crossed this year
  • 100M+ social impressions
  • Built and shipped our own image generation model, now ranked #3 globally for photo realism

No funding. No shortcuts. Just a sharp, driven team building one of the strongest GenAI products in the world - and we're just getting started.
We're now expanding our commercial presence in San Francisco and looking for someone who can help us build and scale our Enterprise and B2B motion from the ground up.
About the Role
We're hiring a GTM Enterprise professional to help build and scale ImagineArt's Enterprise revenue engine.
You'll work directly with prospects and customers to understand creative workflows, run discovery sessions, deliver product demonstrations, design pilots, close commercial agreements, and turn customer experimentation into repeatable revenue.
This is a high-ownership, customer-facing role ideal for someone who enjoys working with creative and marketing teams, understands SaaS buying processes, and wants to help define how a category-leading AI company scales commercially.
What You'll Do
  • Build the B2B marketing function from the ground up - strategy, systems, playbooks, and execution
  • Own brand, website, content, and demand gen end to end
  • Plan and run paid campaigns across LinkedIn, Meta, and Google/YouTube
  • Develop one clear content narrative carried consistently across every channel
  • Partner with GTM Engineering on audience and targeting
  • Deliver qualified MQLs to Sales from high-value buyers

What We're Looking For
  • 5+ years leading B2B marketing at a B2B SaaS company
  • You've built a marketing function from scratch before - not just inherited one
  • Ideally sold to marketing or creative teams
  • Fluent with AI tools and uses them to move faster
  • Based in or willing to relocate to San Francisco
