What is B&B Staffing?

B&B Staffing typically refers to a staffing agency that specializes in providing temporary or permanent staff for bed and breakfast establishments. These agencies help B&B owners find qualified personnel such as housekeepers, chefs, front desk staff, and maintenance workers. They handle the recruitment, vetting, and placement process, making it easier for B&B operators to maintain high service standards without the hassle of direct hiring. By working with a B&B staffing agency, owners can efficiently fill both short-term and long-term staffing needs, especially during peak travel seasons.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a B&B Staffing professional?

To thrive in B&B Staffing, you need a strong background in hospitality operations, customer service, and staff management, often supported by experience in hospitality or staffing agencies. Familiarity with scheduling software, applicant tracking systems, and payroll management tools is typically required. Excellent communication, organizational skills, and the ability to resolve conflicts help someone excel in this client-facing, fast-paced environment. These skills ensure efficient staffing, high guest satisfaction, and smooth operations for bed & breakfast establishments.

What are some typical challenges faced when working in B&B Staffing roles, and how can they be effectively managed?

In B&B staffing roles, professionals often encounter challenges such as managing variable guest volumes, adapting quickly to changing schedules, and ensuring high service standards in a fast-paced environment. Effective communication with both the B&B management and fellow staff is crucial for smooth operations. Being proactive, flexible, and attentive to guest needs can help staff members excel and create memorable experiences, even during busy periods. Teamwork and a positive attitude are essential for overcoming common hurdles and fostering a supportive work environment.

Job description

About the Role Are you a reliable, detail-oriented person looking for a great part-time job in a welcoming environment? Lullaby B&B is looking for a proactive Assistant to join our small team. No previous B&B experience is required—if you have a positive attitude, pride in your work, and a willingness to learn, we’d love to meet you!

What You’ll Do: You will help us keep our B&B running smoothly and make our guests feel at home. Daily tasks include:

  • Housekeeping & Laundry: Helping keep guest rooms and common areas clean, fresh, and comfortable.
  • Gluten-Free Breakfast Service: Assisting with simple breakfast preparation, set-up, and serving.
  • Guest Hospitality: Greeting guests with a warm smile and helping ensure they have a pleasant stay.

What We’re Looking For

  • Great Attitude & Reliability: You show up on time, take pride in what you do, and enjoy helping people.
  • Attention to Detail: You notice the small things that make a place feel clean and welcoming.
  • Gluten-Free Awareness: Since we are a specialized gluten-free B&B, personal experience with Celiac disease or a gluten-free lifestyle is a big plus (or a strong willingness to learn strict cross-contamination safety).
  • Strict Smoke-Free Policy: We maintain a 100% smoke-free workplace at all times.

Why Join Us?

  • Occupancy-Based Schedule: Hours and days vary based on guest bookings. During lower season, work is on an as-needed basis (typically 4–5 hour morning shifts); peak season brings more consistent days and longer hours. Schedules are always set in advance.
  • Friendly Environment: You’ll work side-by-side with our family—either directly with us or with our daughter—in a friendly, collaborative B&B atmosphere.
  • Learn New Skills: Gain hands-on experience in customer service and specialized food preparation.

How to Apply: Send us a quick message and your resume, and tell us a bit about yourself and why you'd be a great fit for our team!
