Job description

Auria is looking to hire an Automation / Cloud Services Specialist to support the Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity program. The Marine Corps Tactical Systems Support Activity (MCTSSA) provides
24/7 global technical support for Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (C5ISR) systems; and conducts engineering, testing and evaluation, and supports experimentation on C5I systems and amphibious platforms to inform acquisition decisions and make the Fleet Marine Force (FMF) more capable. This role is ONSITE at Camp Pendleton, CA.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:
  • Implement automation across all layers - infrastructure provisioning, configuration management, deployment, testing, and operation.
  • Retool infrastructure to provide an agile foundation that provides joint infrastructure management and automation framework.
  • Interface directly with staff members within the organization to discuss and assess compliance with IT policies, standards and procedures and suggest opportunities for improvement.
  • Build automation to configure applications, networks, and services, in a production, testing, and development environment.
  • Partner with infrastructure teams to identify and automate processes to reduce technical debt, set up CI/CD pipelines, and optimize build/testing/deployment times.
  • Work with testing and development teams throughout the testing life cycle ensuring timely integration.
  • Commit all automation code and supporting files to source control (git and GitLab).
  • Train operations team members to use the automation the team builds.
  • Configure and administer cloud technologies in hyperscale cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, and GCP among others.
  • Configure and administer cloud services in an on-premises platforms (e.g., Azure Stack family of systems, Amazon Snow family of systems, etc.)
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:
  • Documented network and system administration experience.
  • Documented virtualization technology experience (e.g. VMWare, Linux, Windows, etc.)
  • Experience with source control using git and GitHub/GitLab repositories.
  • Experience leading medium to large projects by bringing together the right perspectives, identifying roadblocks, and integrating feedback from clients and team members.
  • 7+ years of experience in Infrastructure IT Operations.
  • 5+ years of software automation and development experience.
  • 2+ years scripting language experience.
  • Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level I certification.
  • Red Hat Certified Specialist in Ansible Automation.
  • Cloud Computing certifications (e.g., Azure Administrator, AWS Associate Level Cert, etc.).
  • Experience with on-premises cloud technologies (e.g., Azure Stack, Amazon Snow, etc.).
  • Active Security Clearance - Secret
WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Experience in IT Operations in relation to Systems amp; Network Architecture, and AI/ML environments.
  • Previous experience in a Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery (CI/CD) or DevOps role.
  • Experience in distributed systems design and integration architectures of business applications using micro services, containers, Kubernetes, and cloud infrastructures.
  • Experience or familiarity with either Amazon Web Services (AWS) features or management, Google Cloud Platform (GCP) or Azure.
  • Experience in creating and running Ansible playbooks, both CLI (Ansible Core) and AWX/Tower/AAP (Ansible Automation Platform).
  • Python scripting, including scripts that call APIs like AWS and ServiceNow.
  • Experience with Terraform or similar infrastructure-as-a-code platform.
  • Strong passion for quality assurance in development, including experience in finding, investigating, and fixing bugs.
  • Excellent communication skills.
PAY TRANSPARENCY: The salary offered will be based on the selected candidate’s qualifications - skills, education amp; experience - and the position level. $120,000 - $150,000.
