Job description

We are seeking a skilled Data Analyst with strong experience in AWS cloud services and a deep understanding of healthcare data. This role will focus on collecting, analyzing, and interpreting complex healthcare datasets to drive data-informed decisions, improve operational efficiency, and support strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with AWS data tools and a strong grasp of healthcare standards like HIPAA, HL7, FHIR, and claims/EHR data.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze large volumes of structured and unstructured healthcare data and Insurance Data from multiple sources including EHRs, claims, patient portals, and third-party vendors.
  • Leverage AWS services such as S3, Redshift, Athena, Glue, Lambda, and Quicksight to process, analyze, and visualize data.
  • Design and develop ETL/ELT pipelines for efficient data ingestion and transformation.
  • Develop dashboards, reports, and visualizations to support stakeholders including clinicians, executives, and operations teams.
  • Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business stakeholders to ensure data integrity and accessibility.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA and other healthcare data privacy regulations.
  • Perform root cause analysis on data anomalies and recommend corrective actions.
  • Provide insights to improve patient outcomes, reduce costs, and optimize performance across healthcare functions.
  • Document data processes, schemas, and metrics definitions for internal use.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Public Health, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience in data analysis roles.
  • 2+ years working with AWS data tools (e.g., Redshift, Athena, S3, Glue).
  • Strong SQL skills and experience with Python or R for data analysis.
  • Experience working with healthcare data such as claims, clinical/EHR, patient engagement, or population health data.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards (e.g., FHIR, HL7, ICD, CPT, LOINC).
  • Experience with data visualization tools like Tableau, Power BI, or AWS Quicksight.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative or healthcare-related field.
  • Experience with healthcare analytics platforms or EMR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner).
  • Knowledge of machine learning basics or statistical modeling is a plus.
  • Experience with HIPAA compliance and working in a secure cloud environment.
