Job description

Job Overview:
We are currently hiring a Certified Welding Inspector (AWS-CWI) for a full-time opportunity in San Diego, CA. The ideal candidate will be responsible for shop and field inspection of structural steel welds and bolting, and preferably possess NDT Level II certifications in UT, MT, and PT.
This position is ideal for professionals who have hands-on inspection experience and are looking to grow within a fast-paced construction and materials testing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform field and shop inspections of structural steel welds and bolted connections
  • Conduct non-destructive testing (NDT) using UT, MT, and PT methods (preferred)
  • Review and interpret structural drawings, welding procedures (WPS), and current building codes
  • Maintain detailed and accurate inspection records, reports, and RFIs
  • Coordinate effectively with project managers, contractors, and client representatives
  • Comply with all safety standards and site protocols

Required Qualifications:
  • Current AWS Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) - Required
  • 3+ years of experience in welding inspection or construction QA/QC
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, codes, and inspection specs
  • Strong communication, organization, and documentation skills
  • Valid Driver's License and clean driving record
  • Must be able to pass a background check and drug screening

Preferred Qualifications:
  • NDT Level II certification in:
    • Ultrasonic Testing (UT)
    • Magnetic Particle (MT)
    • Penetrant Testing (PT)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in a related field
