Overview of the Role

  • We're seeking an experienced and driven CPG professional to lead its account team over Associated Wholesale Grocers members. The Director of Sales - AWG is responsible for leading a small sales team as well as a small support staff for all C.A. Fortune clients. In this role, you will lead ongoing strategic planning and assist client-facing colleagues in their efforts to grow client business in the Central Region. In this position, the Director owns top to top communication with key leadership team members across both internal and external stake holders. They must have a strong ability to establish and maintain relationships, problem solve issues, and find creative solutions for unique obstacles that come along day to day. The Director also represents the region in any client business reviews and new client acquisition.
  • Fully remote but must be local to Kansas City to be available for in-person meetings at AWG HQ
  • Salary range $110,000 - $120,000 based on experience, qualifications and skills
  • Travel requirement: 25% - i.e. industry trade shows, client national sales meetings, and /or any other events

What You'll do at C.A. Fortune

  • Lead the C.A. Fortune sales team across micro and macro level processes
  • Lead strategic planning discussions with C.A. Fortune clients in relation to their go to market plans in Associated Wholesale Grocers divisions
  • Provide experience-based insights into the best possible approach to driving the overall strategy for both current and new accounts
  • Oversee annual goals by client and develop quarterly goals and plans to achieve those objectives
  • Develop relationships with not only the C.A. Fortune account management team, but also C.A. Sales leadership team, cross-pillar leadership, and key client leaders
  • Provide key retailer updates for all C.A. Fortune clients
  • Assist in driving warehouse strategies with the team to grow a strong base business with continued momentum for all clients

What You Should Bring to the Table

  • Extensive experience working with Associated Wholesale Grocers (AWG), including buyer relationships
  • 10+ years of CPG Industry Experience in Sales, Marketing, or similar functions
  • Team leading/people management experience
  • Syndicated data comprehension i.e. Nielsen, SPINS, Cirana (IRI)
  • Microsoft Office Suite & Outlook proficiency
  • Effective communicator and ability to establish rapport quickly
  • Ability to develop and meet goals, manage revenue forecasts and trade spend requirements, along with other client specific KPIs
  • Account experience with one or more of the following: Houchen's, Cosentino's, Homeland, Coborn's, Harp's, B&R
