Torch Technologies is seeking an Avionics Engineer to work at Eglin AFB, FL. The selected candidate will review contractor designs, perform independent analysis, and provide recommendations to the government concerning the designs. The team is responsible for reviewing contractor proposed test plans and ensuring they are adequately specific to test all the relevant requirements. The team may observe testing as needed and will be required to review test results and ensure adequate analysis is contained in test reports. A team member must be able to apply technical knowledge in support of failure analysis and be an active participant in any root cause/corrective action investigations with the electronic assemblies. Knowledge of HEMP, TEMPEST, and EMI/EMC testing is valued, but not required.

As an Avionics Engineer, your duties will include the following, but are not limited to:

  • Review designs of circuits and drawings of electronic assemblies.

  • Support failure analysis and troubleshooting.

  • Review test plans to verify that all requirements will be met by the methodologies used.

  • Review test reports to ensure results vs plans are clearly documented.

Required Qualifications:

  • U.S. Citizenship

  • Must have a Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent engineering discipline. Additional years of relevant experience may be considered in lieu of degree.

  • Must understand engineering design process including requirements generation, design reviews, test planning and execution, and qualification testing.

  • Must have experience with microelectronics components, circuit card/electronic assembly design, test, and qualification processes.

  • Must have an active SECRET DoW security clearance (required at hire).

  • Must be eligible for a TOP SECRET clearance. This position requires candidates to possess a current Secret security clearance in order to access classified information. Inability to maintain a security clearance at the required level will result in a candidate being ineligible for this position.

Preferred Skills:

  • TS clearance preferred.

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering is desired.

  • 3 years' relevant electrical engineering experience.

  • Preferred to be familiar with Military Standards and associated test methods related to electronics and system.
