Job description

Title: AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) Tutor

Reports to: AVID Site Coordinator; AVID Elective Teacher

Position Purpose: To facilitate AVID Tutorial Process and assist AVID Elective teachers.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma

  • Current college students preferred

  • Must be reliable, punctual and professional

  • Able to commit to 2-15 hours per week

  • Speaking and understanding Spanish is a plus

Responsibilities:

  • AVID tutors' primary role is to facilitate the AVID tutorial process

  • AVID tutors work closely with AVID Elective Teachers in implementation and scoring of tutorial materials and student notebooks

  • AVID tutors are required to attend 16 hours of AVID Tutor Training

  • AVID tutors are occasionally asked to provide support on field trips and assist with student and their families

Locations: Chase Middle School; Eisenhower Middle School; Robinson Middle School; Highland Park High School; Topeka High School

Primary Location: To Be Determined

Salary Range: $10.00/hr
