Summary of Responsibilities
- Develop and teach undergraduate aviation courses in a student-centered learning environment.
- Engage in scholarly activities and/or creative works that support the missions of the university, department, and aviation profession.
- Participate in community outreach, industry partnerships, and curriculum development to align academic programs with workforce and industry needs.
- Teach courses in a variety of formats, which may include day, evening, weekend, online, blended, and off-campus instruction.
- Contribute to UVU's strong culture of teaching excellence by creating engaging learning experiences that help students achieve their educational goals.
Qualifications / Licenses / Certifications
- Master's degree from a regionally accredited institution in Aviation or a related field to the coursework being taught.
- PhD in an Aviation-related field from a regionally accredited institution.
- Higher education experience with online teaching experience.
Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Knowledge
- Knowledge of the principles and methodology of adult teaching techniques.
- Knowledge of current Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) policies, regulations, and procedures as related to best practices in industry.
- Knowledge of quantitative and qualitative data analysis and research methodology.
- Knowledge of subject matter and course content.
- Knowledge of instructional strategies and techniques in upper and lower division courses.
- Knowledge of student management, motivation, and evaluation of (peer and self) instruction.
