About the Candidate / role
Tradewind Aviation is looking for a full-time Operations Supervisor to be based in Oxford, CT. The Operations Supervisor serves as a leader within the Operations Center and is responsible for maintaining situational awareness across daily scheduling and dispatch activities. This individual will foster a client-focused, solution-oriented culture by proactively identifying potential operational issues, coordinating resources effectively, and ensuring team members remain aligned with departmental priorities and responsibilities.
The ideal candidate remains calm under pressure, anticipates challenges before they arise, and promotes collaboration across the Operations team. They will lead by example through adherence to company Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), provide coaching and guidance when necessary, and help ensure the consistent execution of safe, efficient, and customer-focused operations.
Responsibilities
  • Promote and contribute to a positive and healthy work environment.
  • Maintain a culture of exceptional client service focused on anticipating client needs and delivering effective solutions.
  • Provide daily leadership and oversight of the Operations Center.
  • Maintain situational awareness of all operational activities and identify potential issues before they impact operations.
  • Ensure department and organizational goals are achieved.
  • Delegate resources and responsibilities effectively to maximize efficiency and workload balance.
  • Monitor team performance and ensure assignments are completed accurately and on time.
  • Lead by example in the understanding and adherence of company SOPs.
  • Ensure team compliance with established SOPs and provide coaching and corrective guidance when necessary.
  • Promote the safe release of Part 91 and Part 135 flights.
  • Run daily operations meetings and coordinate follow-up actions.
  • Interface with other departments to support operational objectives and SOP compliance.
  • Anticipate future operational challenges and proactively implement solutions.
  • Provide Scheduling and Dispatch coverage during PTO or staffing shortages.
  • Participate in interviews and candidate evaluations as requested.
  • Participate in on-call responsibilities as assigned.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

Requirements
Qualifications
  • Minimum high school diploma required; college degree preferred.
  • Minimum of two to three years of Aircraft Scheduling and Dispatch experience in an
  • Operations Center.
  • Demonstrated leadership ability with experience coordinating teams and operational resources.
  • Strong understanding of aviation operational processes, priorities, and customer service expectations.
  • Ability to maintain composure and make sound decisions in a fast-paced operational environment.
  • Proven ability to identify risks, solve problems proactively, and drive issues to resolution.
  • Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook, and Teams.
  • FAA Aircraft Dispatcher Certificate preferred.
