Aviation Senior Civil Project Engineer โ€“ Raleigh, NC

Ardurraย is looking to hire an experienced Aviation Senior Civil Project Engineerย for ourย Aviationย practice inย Raleigh, NC.

Ardurraย is aย recognized aviation planning and design leader, offeringย a comprehensive range of services for all types of airports โ€“ from air carriers to general aviation. Our creative solutions to aviation-related projects, combined with our knowledge and understanding of the local airport community, enable us to produce efficient and functional designs that can meet any growingย airportโ€™sย needs.ย 

Our airport technical staff has been involved in over 2,000 airport projects at 100+ airports throughout the southeast, ranging from master plans to the overall design of general aviation, reliever, and air carrier airports. We have helped airports capitalize on their economic potential through our planning and funding efforts for new facilities.ย We have also helped airports make the best use of their dollars for much-needed rehabilitation projects.ย 

Primary Functionย 

As a Seniorย Civil Projectย Engineerย in ourย aviation practice,ย youโ€™llย support orย lead the design and delivery of complexย aviationย infrastructure. Your work will span airfield layout including runways, taxiways, and aprons; pavement design; grading and drainage systems; terminal building site development; and access roadways.ย Youโ€™llย collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and ensure all designs meet FAA and local regulatory standards. This is a high-impact role ideal for a civil engineer who thrives in a collaborative environment and is passionate about shaping the future of aviation infrastructure.ย 

Primary Dutiesย 

  • Act as design lead for airfield civil construction projects while working with one or more EITโ€™s and other project team membersย 
  • Oversee and mentor one orย more EITs in the areas of grading design, pavement design, marking design, airport operational construction safety and phasing plans, and other components of airport designย 
  • Coordinate with owners, internal staff, and subconsultants throughout the project life cycleย 
  • Present design concepts, alternatives, and solutions during client review meetingsย 
  • Act as design lead during the bidding processย 
  • Participate in construction inspection and oversight, either as lead inspector or as technical supportย 

Education and Experience Requirementsย 

  • Bachelorโ€™s orย Masterโ€™s degree in Civil Engineeringย 
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in civil engineering with a strong focus on aviation projectsย 
  • PE license required (or ability to obtain within 6 months)ย 
  • Proven experience with FAA design standards (Advisory Circulars), AutoCAD Civil 3D, and airfield pavement designย 
  • Strong leadership, communication, and project management skillsย
