Job description

The Facilities Maintenance Technician will maintain efficient and smooth operation of the physical jobsite.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Monitoring and maintaining the safety and cleanliness and functionality of interior and exterior areas, such as offices, conference rooms, kitchens, bathrooms, parking lots and outdoor spaces for multiple sites.
  • This role will perform routine building maintenance including but not limited to, painting, light bulb changes, plumbing, electrical, light tile work mechanical work.
  • Schedule cleaning and maintenance tasks when necessary and performing similar duties as necessary, including supervising and monitoring the janitorial company.
  • Performing routine maintenance on facilities and making repairs as needed.
  • Scheduling routine inspections and emergency repairs with outside vendors.
  • Ensuring proper security measures for the workplace, including collaborating with security system vendors or a team of security professionals.
  • Maintaining day-to-day operations of facilities and completing maintenance order in a timely manner.
  • Creating reports on maintenance, repairs, safety and other occurrences for supervisors and other relevant staff.
  • Preparing facilities for changing weather conditions. Sidewalk snow removal and salting of walks and parking lots, maintaining safe environment.
  • Ensures assigned equipment is in proper working order and available for use.
  • Acts as liaison with most outside contractors needed to resolve specialized problems including HVAC, Plumbing, electrical, lawn and landscape. Getting quotes and presenting bids/contracts for contractors.
  • Drafts and implements preventive maintenance schedules for buildings and equipment.
  • Ensures safety standards are followed throughout facility.
  • Participation on emergency preparedness planning team.
  • Applies, or assists with application, for required environmental permits.
  • Maintains inventory of supplies; reorders as needed.
  • Executive Car assistance - taking in for maintenance, take to car was, getting detailing done, moving car locations.
  • Running errands and other duties as assigned by management within the ticket system.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software necessary to create and maintain reports and logs.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to multitask and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage contractor performance.
  • Organized and pays attention to details.
  • Self-motivated and follows thru to completion.
  • Shift schedules vary during snow season and position will be required to start earlier or end later to accommodate the building needs.
Education and Experience:
  • At least two years performing building maintenance duties or related experience required.
  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Additional school or training a plus.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and walking throughout facilities.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to bend, lift, stretch, climb, and crawl to maintain equipment and buildings.
  • Must be able to perform work in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment background checks and driving record.
  • Must have a valid driver's license
