Transform Lives Through Communication in Vibrant North Carolina - Join Our Team as a Speech Language Pathologist
Overview
Imagine a career where you play a pivotal role in helping individuals express themselves. As a Speech Language Pathologist in a thriving community in North Carolina, your impact extends far beyond treating communication and swallowing disorders. You'll be on a mission to unlock potential, restore self-esteem, and foster human connections - guiding children in their first articulate phrases and assisting seniors in reclaiming their ability to communicate effectively.
This role presents an incredible opportunity to work with a diverse clientele, ranging from young children to older adults, in a dynamic environment that merges outpatient therapy with the occasional inpatient support. Whether you're passionate about helping children develop their language skills, assisting adults with neurogenic communication challenges, or providing rehabilitation for elderly patients, you'll find a rewarding and flexible workspace that caters to your professional aspirations.
Description
  • Assess patients across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using recognized evaluations and observational insights.
  • Craft individualized treatment strategies that target immediate objectives in addition to long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver personalized speech therapy interventions aimed at enhancing speech, language, fluency, articulation, and swallowing abilities.
  • Team up with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to formulate synergistic care plans.
  • Provide educational resources for patients and families to encourage progress outside of sessions.
  • Assist with speech therapy evaluations and interventions for inpatient cases, ensuring a seamless continuum of care.
  • Document care and interactions accurately and in a timely manner, complying with all relevant guidelines and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of the latest developments in the field via continuous education and collaboration with peers.
Education
  • Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State license as a Speech Language Pathologist.
  • Preferred: Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification mandated within 30 days of hire.
Skills
  • Mastery of evidence-based treatment methodologies across all age groups, with a thorough understanding of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing ailments.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills for interacting with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams.
  • Able to tailor therapeutic methods to meet the various cultural and language needs of clients.
  • Strong clinical acumen and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Proficient with electronic health records and documentation standards.
Benefits
  • Competitive salary based on experience.
  • Flexible work schedules promoting a healthy work-life balance and accommodating different caseloads.
  • Opportunities for specialization in pediatrics, adult rehabilitation, or geriatric therapy.
  • Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation.
  • Medical, dental, vision, and life insurance plans available.
  • Financial support for continuing education and professional growth.
  • A collaborative, team-centered atmosphere focused on delivering premium care and ongoing learning.

A Career That Moves You Forward
In this position, you will not merely provide therapy; you will become an integral part of a mission-building community dedicated to restoring voices, enhancing communication, and experiencing joy from the simplest acts of understanding one another.
You'll collaborate with fellow clinicians who support one another like family, within an environment that prioritizes teamwork. Every patient brings their own story, and we are excited to see how you will contribute to it.
Discover the Magic of Living and Working in North Carolina
Life in this beautiful region of North Carolina strikes a harmonious balance between natural beauty, vibrant culture, and endless possibility. From the picturesque landscapes to the dynamic urban centers, this area invites exploration and joy in every moment.
Families come together for weekend barbecues and outdoor concerts in local parks, while outdoor enthusiasts enjoy hiking, scenic biking trails, or canoeing along serene waters. Culinary adventurers relish the delightful array of local eateries, offering everything from farm-fresh dishes to artisanal coffee creations.
This area pulses with creativity and community spirit, reflected in its thriving art scene, lively music venues, and festivals that celebrate diversity and connection. Moreover, for professionals, the perks extend beyond lifestyle as you benefit from no state income tax and economic growth within a robust healthcare landscape.
Embrace a space that nurtures your personal and professional development, whether you're entering the field freshly or are a seasoned expert ready for new adventures.
Who We Are Looking For
We seek a Speech Language Pathologist motivated by empathy and results. This individual sees potential in a quiet child and envisions a future filled with expressive language, hears the hesitant voice of a stroke survivor, and instead hears perseverance.
Whether you specialize in pediatric speech therapy and are looking to branch into adult services, or you have a background in neuro rehabilitation and wish to integrate early intervention, you have a place here.
If you are passionate about serving others and ready to engage deeply in your practice, we invite you to join us.
Let's Craft the Perfect Narrative Together
If you view communication as a vital aspect of connection and therapy as a meaningful journey rather than a task list, if establishing trust is as important as achieving goals, then this might be the pivotal chapter in your career.
