Job description

The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO
The Onsite Maintenance Technician will work in partnership with the Customer, management team, Global Helpdesk, and SIG teams to provide on premises support for AVI-SPL customers at customer site(s) with the end goals of delivering a world-class Customer Service experience.
Day-To-Day Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct assistance to end users in the operation of the AV/UCC systems.
  • Provide set-up and operational support for client events.
  • Perform preventive maintenance checks & services on AV/UCC systems.
  • Perform maintenance task to help maintain customer spaces including but not limited to: testing/repairing cables, testing/repairing various hardware components limited to: testing/repairing cables, testing/repairing various hardware components
  • Perform support tasks in a timely and quality conscious manner including but not limited to: meeting support, installing connectors, video/audio recording support
  • Perform administrative tasks such as assisting with service tickets
  • Performs remote troubleshooting for local and regional offices.
  • Coordinate RMA processing and parts procurement as needed.
  • Effectively escalate process concerns that affect timely problem resolution through strong communications.
  • Maintain accurate inventory on all AV/UCC systems including spare parts.
  • Ensure compliance with all Customer safety and procedural guidelines.
  • Provides reports and adheres to service levels as agreed upon.
  • Oversee day-to-day AV/UCC operations.
  • Responsible for job site documentation as needed
  • Provide client training as needed
  • Work with internal/external teams in a professional manner that reflects the values of AVI-SPL
  • Travel to various job sites as required

  • AVI-SPL reserves the right to alter work hours and work location as necessary. Work hours may vary based on client requirements and may include travel to various locations in support of the account.
  • This position will generally work on customer sites and may deal with a construction site type of work environment.

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Must-Haves:
  • Ability to effectively communicate with employees, customers and colleagues
  • Ability to use hand and power tools in a safe and efficient manner including soldering & crimping connectors
  • Ability to work and think independently and ensuring meeting deadlines
  • Intermediate computer knowledge
  • Knowledge of basic signal flow for audio, video and control
  • Valid Driver's License and a Motor Vehicle Record that meets AVI-SPL driving standards
  • Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum of 1 - 3 years of audiovisual integration experience preferred

Nice-To-Haves:
  • Formal education in Electronics or a related field preferred

      • AMX Intro to Networking for AV Professionals
      • Crestron Professional Installation
      • Extron AV Associate Certification
      • AVIXA Quick Start to the Audio-Visual Industry
      • AVIXA CTS General Certification
    • Experience with Crestron One Beyond camera and intelligent video conferencing solutions
    • Experience managing and supporting Microsoft Teams Rooms (MTR) environments
    • Knowledge of Q-SYS technology, including deployment, configuration, and troubleshooting of audio, video, and control systems
    • Strong understanding of AV systems integration, networking, and collaboration technologies preferred
