What is an AV technician?

AV Technicians, or Audio Visual Technicians, are professionals who set up, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot audio and video equipment used for events, meetings, conferences, and broadcasts. Their responsibilities include installing microphones, projectors, sound systems, video screens, and other AV technology. They ensure that all audio and visual components function correctly, provide technical support during events, and may also handle equipment repairs and upgrades. AV Technicians often work with event planners, IT teams, and presenters to deliver seamless AV experiences.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as an AV technician, and why are they important?

To thrive as an AV Technician, you need a solid understanding of audio-visual systems, signal flow, troubleshooting, and often a technical diploma or equivalent experience.
