Familiarity with project management software (e.g., MS Project), AV design tools, and integration systems is typically required. Exceptional organizational skills, effective communication, and problem-solving abilities are crucial soft skills for coordinating teams and managing client expectations. These skills ensure successful project delivery, client satisfaction, and seamless AV system integration.

What are AV Project Managers?

AV Project Managers are professionals who oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of audio-visual (AV) projects, such as installing conference room systems, event AV setups, or building-wide AV integrations. They serve as the main point of contact between clients, vendors, and installation teams, ensuring that projects are completed on time, within budget, and to specified requirements. Job description

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the planning, execution, and successful delivery of complex technology systems installation projects. This role is critical in managing multi-trade, low-voltage integration projects that often involve structured cabling, security systems (access control, video surveillance), AV, networking, and fire/life safety installations. You will coordinate internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and clients while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.

This is a hands-on role ideal for a detail-oriented leader with strong technical aptitude in systems integration and construction/project management software.

Key Responsibilities

- Lead full lifecycle project management for technology systems installations, including scoping, scheduling, resource allocation, budgeting, risk management, and closeout.

- Manage multiple concurrent projects across various locations, ensuring minimal disruption to client operations.

- Coordinate with field technicians, subcontractors, engineers, and clients to deliver turnkey solutions (security, cabling, AV, networking, etc.).

- Develop and maintain detailed project schedules, budgets, and documentation using Procore for construction/project management.

- Handle financial aspects of projects, including change orders, invoicing, cost tracking, and integration with Sage 100 (Sage 100 Contractor) for accounting and job costing.

- Utilize Insperity for HR-related tasks such as onboarding field staff, time tracking, payroll coordination, and compliance.

- Conduct regular site visits, progress meetings, and quality control inspections.

- Ensure compliance with all applicable codes, standards (e.g., BICSI), safety regulations, and client requirements.

- Manage project risks, resolve issues proactively, and maintain strong client relationships for repeat business.

- Prepare project reports, forecasts, and closeout documentation for internal leadership and clients.

- Collaborate with the service department for seamless transition to ongoing maintenance and support.

Required Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of progressive project management experience in construction, low-voltage systems integration, or technology infrastructure projects.

- Proven track record managing system installations involving structured cabling, security systems, AV, or similar technical environments.

- Strong working knowledge of Procore for project management, RFIs, submittals, drawings, and daily field reports.

- Experience with Sage 100 (preferably Sage 100 Contractor) for job costing, financial tracking, change orders, and ERP integration.

- Familiarity with Insperity (or similar PEO/HRIS platforms) for workforce management, payroll, and HR compliance.

- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Project, Excel, Word, Outlook) and project management tools.

- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel as needed (primarily within the Western US).

Preferred Qualifications

- PMP certification, CAPM, or equivalent project management credential.

- Technical certifications (e.g., BICSI, manufacturer-specific like Genetec, Axis, Cisco).

- Experience with low-voltage contracting (C-7 or equivalent licensing).

- Background in government, education, industrial, or enterprise-scale projects.

- Knowledge of prevailing wage, public works, and multi-state compliance.
