Overview
Abacus Technology is seeking an AV System Specialist to provide IT and hardware support as part of the U.S. Air Force (AF), Strategic Command (USSTRATCOM) team. This is a full-time position at Offutt AFB.
Responsibilities
  • Administer, configure, operate, and maintain systems supporting all Conference Rooms, Auditorium, and the Atrium.
  • Maintain and operate VTC, AV suites, and teleconferencing hardware and software.
  • Administer, maintain, configure, schedule, and facilitate suite-based VTC systems and associated support equipment and processes.
  • Facilitate using the Atrium and Auditorium's audio and video display system, including monitoring audio and video quality and adjusting, as necessary, for conditions to ensure the highest audio quality possible.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve AV issues within the collaboration spaces and presentation rooms.
  • Guide and instruct authorized users/customers with the operation of AV equipment before their scheduled event.
  • Administer, configure, and operate a centralized scheduling system to assist Command personnel in scheduling conference rooms, the auditorium, and the atrium.
  • Schedule, coordinate, and administer multiple simultaneous VTC and AV sessions for all networks.
  • Administer, configure, maintain, and operate VTC Infrastructure, including codecs, Multi-point Conferencing Units (MCU), Telepresence Management Suite (TMS), Virtual Communications Server (VCS) Control, and Expressway on multiple networks.
  • Monitor AV services to maintain awareness of VTC performance, facilitate early detection of incidents, report degradations and outages IAW USSTRATCOM policy, and provide assistance to determine root causes and correct any problems or issues.
  • Administer, configure, maintain, and operate Multi-Domain Video Network Switch (MDVNS).
  • Facilitate and monitor GO/FO/SES attended events in the Atrium and the Auditorium that require AV capabilities.
  • Provide on-site end-user support for mission-critical and mission essential AV systems/services operated and maintained by the Enterprise AV Functional Area.
  • Install, configure, and maintain AV hardware and software on Command-approved networks as requested by the Command.

Qualifications
2+ years experience supporting AV and VTC systems. Must be Security+ CE certified. Experience with the following: VTC endpoint operations (Secure/Unsecure) - conference room systems; VTC infrastructure knowledge (MCU, Gatekeepers, Gateways, Crypto equipment); basic knowledge of Internet Protocol (IP)/Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) networks (High speed serial circuits) pertaining VTCs; video touting (matrix switching, system flow knowledge); and audio system knowledge (digital signal processor knowledge). Experience with AV room control systems utilizing multiple security classification (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI) for a military operational environment utilizing AMX/Crestron or equivalent touch screen controllers, to control room classification levels, AV source distribution, and VTC sessions. Experience in complex AV display and distribution systems with multiple security classifications (Secret, Top Secret, Top Secret/SCI), utilizing high definition displays and AV Switches to route AV sources to local and remote displays. Able to support customers through remote facilitation tools. Must be detail oriented and have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities. Requires good communications skills and the ability to work professionally with all levels of an organization. Must be a US citizen and hold a current Top Secret clearance with SCI access (TS/SCI).
