Job description

Bach To Rock (“B2R”) America’s Music School for students of all ages, in Lincoln, Nebraska, is currently seeking an Audio Engineer to work as a part-time employee facilitating the audio technical and recording needs in support of private lesson students, bands & ensembles, music camps, and birthday parties. Staff at Bach to Rock provide a wide range of students with an inspiring and well-balanced music education. By teaching theory and technique using music that students know and love, B2R teachers develop young musicians who enjoy performing, recording in our studio, and even composing original music!
Bach to Rock offers the opportunity to work a flexible part-time schedule in a fun environment with other like-minded musicians. We handle the marketing, scheduling, booking, billing, and other business aspects of the lessons & group classes. B2R specialists are provided with the Bach to Rock curriculum, equipment, and space, so they have everything they need to deliver successful, effective instruction and recording sessions.
Essential Responsibilities
Specific duties and responsibilities include the following, but the individual will also be expected to perform other necessary duties customarily performed by a person holding this position. 
  • Coordinate the setup, breakdown, and recording of B2R birthday parties
  • Coordinate the setup and breakdown of live events and concerts
  • Record clients – both solo artists and large bands
  • Composing original music with clients
  • Teach digital technology such as ProTools and music sequencing
  • Properly store all equipment - microphones, cables, DI boxes, etc.
  • Properly manage all audio recordings and hard drives
Requirements:
  • Advanced knowledge and understanding of Pro Tools
  • Must demonstrate the ability to run sound equipment
  • Must have experience with producing music
  • Ability to understand microphone placement and function.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with clients
  • Proficiency in at least one musical instrument
  • Advanced knowledge of music concepts
  • Effective time management and organizational skills to manage a productive and timely session
  • Comfortable adapting in a fast-paced environment with a variety of personalities
  • Ability to interact effectively with children and adults
  • Ability to be physically present at the facility during its hours of operation
  • Ability to pass a background check
  • Must be proficient in English speaking and writing skills
