Nebraska Public Media is building a new daily talk show designed to inform, engage, and connect Nebraskans through timely conversations on news, public affairs, culture, education, health, and issues affecting communities across the state. This show will be produced for both radio and digital platforms, with a focus on strong storytelling, thoughtful interviews, audience engagement, and content that reflects the interests and needs of Nebraska audiences.
To support this new initiative, Nebraska Public Media is hiring a team of content professionals who will help shape, produce, host, report, and distribute daily talk show content.
As the Radio Talk Show Reporter/Producer you will utilize original storytelling skills, strong writing and organizational skills to create, produce, write, and edit multi-media content for Nebraska Public Media's daily radio talk show. Produce segments, interviews, research, and book guests for radio and digital audiences. This position will also serve as a fill-in host for radio talk show.

Minimum Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, broadcasting, communications or related field and one (1) year of news reporting and/or experience in the production of news/public affairs programming.
- Additional years of relevant experience or completed relevant education may substitute for required education/experience on a year-for-year basis.
- Experience originating, developing, writing, and producing content.
Preferred Qualifications
- Two (2) years' experience news reporting and/or experience in the production of news/public affairs programming; equivalency considered.
- On-air hosting experience. Reporting and producing experience.
- Knowledge of talk show production.
- Experience with standard broadcast equipment.
- Experience with digital audio editing software.
- Experience with digital editing and radio production.
- Familiarity with podcasting and digital platforms helpful.
The successful candidate will have the ability to host live interviews and possess interpersonal skills. They will have knowledge of current events and demonstrate skill in news reporting, researching, copywriting, and editing while meeting strict deadlines.
