The engineer will support both legacy and modern scheduling technologies, contribute to platform upgrades and operational improvements, and help drive the evolution of enterprise scheduling capabilities.

This position works closely with engineering, application, security, and infrastructure teams to maintain highly available scheduling services, automate operational processes, improve platform reliability, and support future-state orchestration solutions. Responsibilities may include infrastructure administration, vulnerability remediation, patching, certificate management, automation development, workflow orchestration, and cloud-based platform enablement.

Responsibilities

  • Administer, support, troubleshoot, and maintain enterprise scheduling and orchestration platforms, including technologies such as Autosys, Airflow, and similar enterprise automation solutions.

  • Manage Linux-based production infrastructure, including system configuration, patching, performance tuning, vulnerability remediation, and operational support activities.

  • Develop and maintain automation using Python, Go, Shell, or similar scripting and programming languages to improve platform reliability, scalability, and operational efficiency.

  • Design, implement, and support workflow orchestration solutions, including job dependencies, scheduling logic, error handling, and integrations across distributed systems.

  • Participate in platform upgrades, migrations, and modernization initiatives while ensuring stability and availability of production services.

  • Diagnose and resolve complex infrastructure, application, and workflow-related issues through effective troubleshooting and root cause analysis.

  • Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and engineering teams to deliver reliable scheduling and automation services.

  • Support certificate management, security remediation activities, compliance requirements, and infrastructure maintenance efforts.

  • Contribute to monitoring, observability, performance optimization, and resiliency improvements across scheduling and orchestration platforms.

  • Participate in production support processes, including incident response, problem management, and continuous improvement activities.

  • Support the adoption of modern infrastructure and automation practices, including Infrastructure-as-Code, cloud technologies, container platforms, and CI/CD capabilities where appropriate.

  • Document operational procedures, platform standards, architecture decisions, and automation solutions.

Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience
- At least 7 years of experience within a total information technology (IT) environment
- At least 7 years of experience with the design, development and support of technology infrastructure

Preferred Skills/Experience

  • Proven experience implementing and supporting infrastructure automation solutions, driving scalable and repeatable platform operations across on-premises and cloud environments.

  • Strong experience administering and supporting Linux-based production infrastructure, including system patching, performance tuning, troubleshooting, and operational support.

  • Experience with enterprise scheduling, workload automation, or workflow orchestration platforms, including technologies such as Autosys, Airflow, or similar automation solutions.

  • Proficiency in Python, Go, Shell, or similar scripting and programming languages used to automate infrastructure, platform operations, and system integrations.

  • Experience designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex workflow orchestration, including job dependencies, scheduling logic, error handling, and distributed system integrations.

  • Working knowledge of modern DevOps practices, including CI/CD pipelines, Infrastructure-as-Code, observability, and automation-driven operational models.

  • Experience supporting cloud technologies and container-based platforms, including public cloud services (AWS, Azure, or GCP), Docker, Kubernetes, or similar technologies.

  • Demonstrated success supporting business-critical production environments, including incident response, root cause analysis, problem management, and service reliability improvements.

  • Knowledge of system resiliency, monitoring, logging, performance optimization, and operational excellence practices.

  • Understanding of security and vulnerability management processes, including patching, certificate management, remediation activities, and secure infrastructure design.
