Automotive Trainers focus on educating technicians and staff on automotive repair and maintenance, often working in training centers or dealerships. Automotive Service Advisors interact directly with customers, explaining repairs and scheduling services. While both roles require automotive knowledge, trainers emphasize instruction, whereas advisors focus on customer service and communication.
Automotive trainers work for car manufacturers; their primary responsibility is to teach salespeople at car dealerships about the features and specifications available on the different car models produced by their employers. In this role, you travel to various dealerships in your territory and demonstrate what makes your vehicles different from other cars so that the sales representatives can highlight these unique features to prospective buyers. You can also offer advice on sales techniques that are specific to the new vehicles. Some technical trainers work with the repair staff at dealerships to show them how to fix and maintain new components or features.

EchoPark Automotive is hiring an Automotive Technician to join our team in Cary, NC. Our technicians enjoy guaranteed pay, very collaborative and casual work environment, very different from a traditional "dog eat dog" shop. It's fun, fair and a great place to work. To excel in this service role, you will need excellent customer service skills, effective communication skills, and attention to detail.
What You'll Do:
The Automotive Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. Our technicians inspect and repair a wide range of pre-owned makes and models up to 12 years old.
190 Point Vehicle Inspection
Lube, filter, flushes
Brake system and tire repair
Suspension and alignments
Vehicle Drivability
Air Conditioning Diagnosis and Repair
Gasket and Seal Repairs
What We're Looking For:
Must be state certified where applicable
At least 6 months of previous Automotive Mechanic experience, or Auto Tech School certification
Own a set of tools
Valid driver's license and a good driving record
High school diploma or the equivalent
Strong work ethic and thrive in a fast-paced environment
Ability to follow directions and willingness to learn
Respect for teammates and positive outlook
