Job description

Summary

The Public Relations Senior Specialist is responsible for developing, executing, and maintaining external communication, media relations, public affairs, community engagement, and corporate reputation initiatives that support our Company's business objectives and brand strategy.


This role serves as a key communications resource for the organization by managing public relations activities, supporting executive communications, strengthening community partnerships, promoting employer branding initiatives, and ensuring consistent messaging across media, digital platforms, and public-facing communications. The position works closely with leadership, General Affairs, Human Resources, Operations, and external stakeholders to enhance corporate reputation, strengthen community relationships, and support strategic business goals.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute public relations and communications strategies that support corporate objectives, business initiatives, and brand awareness
  • Draft, edit, and distribute press releases, public statements, media advisories, executive communications, and other public-facing materials
  • Manage and maintain the company’s presence across digital platforms, social media channels, and communication outlets to ensure consistent messaging and brand alignment
  • Coordinate media outreach efforts and maintain relationships with journalists, media organizations, community leaders, government officials, and other external stakeholders
  • Monitor media coverage, industry trends, and public sentiment and provide recommendations to leadership regarding communication opportunities and potential risks
  • Support crisis communication planning and assist with the development and distribution of timely communications during emergency situations or business disruptions
  • Maintain and enforce corporate branding, messaging, and communication standards across all public-facing materials and initiatives
  • Collaborate with General Affairs, Human Resources, Operations, Legal, and Executive Leadership to develop integrated communication strategies
  • Support employer branding, talent acquisition marketing, employee engagement campaigns, and workforce development initiatives through strategic communications
  • Assist in the development and execution of community relations, corporate social responsibility (CSR), public affairs, educational partnerships, and stakeholder engagement programs
  • Coordinate company participation in community events, industry conferences, public forums, workforce development initiatives, and stakeholder meetings
  • Develop communication materials for executive leadership including speeches, presentations, talking points, briefing documents, and event support materials
  • Support website content management, news publications, newsletters, digital communications, and multimedia content initiatives
  • Analyze communication performance metrics and prepare reports regarding media exposure, public engagement, social media performance, and communication effectiveness
  • Support government affairs, legislative engagement, and public policy initiatives as assigned
  • Maintain cleanliness at work-site in accordance with 5S3R Standards:

  • Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Marketing, Political Science, Business Administration, or related field required
  • Master's degree in Communications, Public Affairs, Public Relations, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Professional certifications in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, or related disciplines are a plus


Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, media relations, public affairs, marketing communications, or related field required
  • Experience supporting executive communications, media engagement, crisis communications, or corporate reputation management preferred
  • Experience in manufacturing, automotive, battery, energy, industrial, startup, joint venture, or multinational business environments preferred
  • Experience supporting community relations, workforce development partnerships, government affairs, or corporate social responsibility initiatives preferred
  • Experience supporting employer branding, recruitment marketing, and employee engagement communications preferred


Work Authorization

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship


Skills

Physical Requirements

Must be able to perform the following activities for extended periods of time:

  • Sit and work at a computer for prolonged periods
  • Use hands and fingers to operate computers, mobile devices, cameras, and office equipment
  • Occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout office, manufacturing, and event environments
  • Occasionally lift, carry, and transport materials, displays, promotional items, photography equipment, or event supplies up to 25 pounds
