Job description

Russ Darrow Metro Mazda is seeking a driven and experienced Automotive Desk Manager to lead and develop a high-performing sales team. This role is ideal for a proven automotive professional who thrives on coaching others, driving results, and delivering an exceptional customer experience.
As a Automotive Desk Manager, you will play a key role in mentoring Sales Associates, improving team performance, and helping customers through the buying process. The ideal candidate brings strong leadership skills, a track record of success in automotive sales, and a hands-on approach to desking and closing deals. This role also requires a background in F&I and would be ideal for someone who's looking to transition from an F&I role to sales/desk manager.
Responsibilities
  • Lead, motivate, and hold the sales team accountable to performance goals and standards
  • Work directly with customers and sales staff to build relationships and enhance the overall sales process
  • Assist in desking deals, structuring transactions, and closing both new and pre-owned sales
  • Train, coach, and mentor Sales Associates on proven sales techniques and product knowledge
  • Monitor and improve team productivity, including lead follow-up, appointments, and closing ratios
  • Support the development of each salesperson's pipeline and customer base
  • Facilitate ongoing sales training and team development initiatives
  • Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction throughout the sales process
  • Collaborate with F&I and other departments to ensure smooth deal flow and customer experience
  • Maintain strong knowledge of inventory, market trends, and dealership offerings
