Our Automotive Paint Sales and Technical Specialist is the primary focal point with our PBE (Paint, Body and Equipment) commercial customers which include collision repair shops, body shops and automotive refinish customers. This role focuses on selling paint systems, consumables and shop solutions, while building long-term customer relationships. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify new and existing sales and marketing opportunities in the PBE segment, then create sales strategies to meet our customers' needs and drive organizational growth
  • Increase sales penetration in existing accounts through product expansion and upselling.
  • Understand the overall PBE market in territory; develop and lead all revenue growth strategies to help us and our customers thrive
  • Develop and utilize effective sales tracking and customers relationship management practices
  • Provide guidance on paint systems, color matching and application processes.
  • Assist with product demos, conversations and troubleshooting. 
  • Support new customers onboarding and paint line conversions.
  • Coordinate with technical reps and vendors for advanced support.
  • Maintain high levels of product and technical knowledge; be an expert!

Key Products Sold

  • Automotive refinish paint systems (basecoat, clearcoat, primers).
  • Body shop supplies (sandpaper, tape, masking, abrasives).
  • Paint booth consumables and maintenance items.
  • Adhesives, sealers and detailing products.
  • Safety and PPE equipment. 


Requirements

Qualifications

  • At least two years of PBE outside sales experience strongly preferred; will consider strong sales talents from a related industry 
  • Experience with major paint lines such as PPG Industries, Axalta Coating systems, BASF Automotive Refinish or Sherwin-Williams Automotive Finishes
  • Prior work experience in automotive paint and/or body shop paint, paint mixing room or collision center strongly preferred
  • Familiarity with estimating systems like CCC ONE 
  • High level of self-motivation and self-direction 
  • Exceptional relationship development talents 
  • Outstanding communication skills, include influencing, listening, and asking customer-centered questions 
  • Strong personal philosophy focused on fostering one of our key differentiators - SERVICE! 

Other Requirements

  • Lifting of a minimum of 50 pounds 
  • Valid driver's license with insurable driving record. Ability to safely operate company-provided vehicle
