Job description

Job Summary
Under the direction of the Distribution Supervisor, with guidance from the Automotive/International Lead, the Automotive/International Shipping Clerk is responsible for various administrative duties, projects, and communications with various departments as well as freight companies. This will be achieved while maintaining HellermannTyton's Quality and EHS certifications by supporting all corporate policies, procedures, work instructions, and required documentation.

Essential Functions:

  • Familiar with ERP systems for processing orders (data entry).
  • Prepare and ship orders according to customer specifications.
  • Communicate with various internal departments and freight companies.
  • Print reports and orders.
  • Familiar with TRAX order entry.

Other Functions

  • Prepare correspondence.
  • Obtain product knowledge.
  • File documents.
  • Interpret bin locator and date code systems.
  • May back up other warehousing functions as necessary, including picking and packing orders.
  • Drive forklift as necessary.
  • Other duties may be assigned. 

Key Competencies

  • Ability to use MS Excel & Word to prepare correspondence and reports.
  • Safe use of equipment/forklift certification.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to use ERP system.

Qualifications (skills, knowledge, experience)

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Good math skills.
  • Basic computer knowledge.
  • Good typing skills.
  • Ability to push/pull/lift up to 50 lbs.
