Job Description

DUTIES: Defines and documents requirements, executes design, analysis, development, and testing of electric drives, including inverters and motors, to ensure successful vehicle application of the electric drive by considering hardware, controls, calibration, software, and overall integration. Develops and documents initial component and subsystem requirement for electric drives. Derives and develops component requirements to meet propulsion system requirements using system engineering discipline, standard work and analysis, and simulation including competitive assessments. Documents components requirement via RCEs and ICDs based on flow down of requirements from Propulsion System Technical Specs (P-STS) and vehicle technical specifications (VTS). Develops electric drive components to meet key performance and cost targets by working collaboratively with Product Engineering, Systems Engineering, Modeling, Analysis, Cost Engineering, Planning, and Program Teams. Leads and coordinates component trade studies to select optimized solutions to meet vehicle requirements of range, performance, drive quality, and cost. Ensures analytical models, initial component designs, and controls have been developed with high fidelity through the BA phase for a successful handoff at PPDR to execution and program teams. Supports multi-functional team led by advanced propulsion system architects in the development of Electrified Propulsion System Architectures through the Advanced Technology Work (ATW), Balanced Architecture (BA), and early GPDP development phase in accordance with the Electrification Process Engineering. Supports development of the system level DFMEA led by Propulsion System Architect by collaborating with key collaborators from System Engineering teams, Safety, and Controls. Works with other SMT's, Vehicle teams, planning, Finance, and Electrification leadership as necessary to lead the project team through successful completion of key ATW, BA, and GPDP gates. Leads advanced technology development and testing ATW work in electric drives. Hybrid Work Policy - 3 Days In-Office, 2 Days Remote - Must be able to report to local office. Multiple positions available.

REQUIREMENTS: Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field and Three (3) years of experience as a System Requirements Engineer, Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role. Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related field and Five (5) years of experience as a System Requirements Engineer, Systems Engineer, Automotive Engineer, or related role. Must have experience with: Designing, developing, and

testing electric drives, motors, and power electronics; Power electronics theory and principles; Design for EMC in power electronics modules; Electrified vehicle system and integration; Commercial tools for modeling and simulation of power electronics and electric drives; High-voltage laboratory and dynamometer environment; and Electrical and mechanical CAD/CAE tools.
