Job description

Audubon is currently seeking an Automation Specialist, Sr. The Automation Specialist, Sr will be responsible for the lead on implementation of control systems and DCS/PLC/SCADA programming on Oil & Gas related projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • This position will be responsible for system specification, design, architecture, and development. The majority of projects will be executed in a team environment. Other team members consist of Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Industrial IT Consultants responsible for network design.
  • Excellent team player, people and mentor skills, with the ability to nurture/manage a relationship with the customer.
  • Direct experience and fluent with configuration of various automation systems (process control systems, safety instrumented systems, and fire and gas systems) including development code, ability to specify hardware and develop/modify graphics.
  • Individuals should be capable of understanding the plant process in the Chemical, Oil, & Gas industry and basic unit operations to assist with the conceptual design of process control strategies for process modifications and plant expansions. The successful candidate will then be responsible for implementing code, system simulation, operator training and commissioning support.
  • Understands aspects of Automation, including PLC, HMI, DCS, SIS, Electrical Design, Instrumentation Design, and Industrial IT.
  • Must have a proven track record of leading automation projects (from conceptual through commissioning) within the Oil and Gas Industry.
  • Other responsibilities include: developing standards, procedures, training manuals, and other documentation for projects or internal use. Opportunity to lead a team and interface directly with customer.

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • B.S. Engineering degree preferred.
  • 10+ years of related experience required.
  • Automation System training/certification a plus.
