Job description

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Kforce's client in Long Island City, NY is seeking a Software Engineer with 2-5 years of experience to join a growing Robotics & Automation team. In this role, the Engineer will help build scalable, intelligent automation solutions that streamline complex business processes and support critical operational workflows. This is an excellent opportunity to work with modern technologies, distributed systems, and cloud-based applications while making a direct impact on the business.
What You'll Do:
* Design, develop, and maintain Java-based applications, APIs, and microservices
* Build automation platforms, event-driven services, and workflow solutions
* Integrate applications across multiple systems and data sources
* Monitor, troubleshoot, and improve production systems and automation performance
* Work with business stakeholders and technical teams to solve complex challenges
* Analyze operational data and contribute to continuous process improvement
REQUIREMENTS:
* 2-5 years of software engineering experience
* Strong Java and Spring Boot development skills
* Experience with REST APIs, microservices, and SQL
* Familiarity with event-driven or distributed systems
* Cloud experience (Azure, AWS, or similar) preferred
* Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work collaboratively and take ownership of solutions
* Airline, travel, or transportation industry experience is a plus but not required
The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.
We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.
