Job description

Automation Quote Engineer
Help Shape the Automation Solutions Manufacturers Rely On
At ArtiFlex Automation, we design and build custom automation systems that help manufacturers solve complex production challenges. Every solution starts with a solid concept-and that's where you come in.
The Automation Quote Engineer serves as a technical-commercial specialist who bridges customer needs with engineered automation solutions. This role develops cost estimates and quoting documentation for automated manufacturing equipment, participates in and sometimes leads technical discussions with customers, and supports the development of competitive, profitable proposals. Responsibilities include concept development, process validation, cross-functional collaboration, and customer engagement.
Combining engineering depth with customer-facing responsibilities you will contribute to both sales strategy and program/quoting leadership activities that will become the foundation for successful projects.
If you enjoy solving technical problems, collaborating with customers, and turning ideas into real-world manufacturing solutions, you'll have the opportunity to make a measurable impact from the very first customer conversation through the final proposal.
What You'll Do
  • Translate customer requirements into automated equipment concepts, preliminary process designs, and feasibility assessments.
  • Participate in customer meetings, technical reviews, and concept presentations to explain proposed solutions.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates for customized automated systems, including labor, materials, controls, fabrication, integration, and installation.
  • Create comprehensive quoting packages, including process flow, scope definition, assumptions, timelines, risk considerations, and cost breakdowns.
  • Conduct cycle-time analysis, MTM evaluations, process flow mapping, and throughput modeling to validate solutions.
  • Partner with Sales, Engineering, Program Management, and Purchasing to ensure accurate, competitive proposals.
  • Support internal bid reviews and ensure quotes meet technical, commercial, and strategic requirements.
  • Contribute to customer relationship development by providing technical insights, concept guidance, and responsive estimating support.

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, or related field; equivalent experience will be considered.
  • Experience with industrial automation, robotics, systems integration, manufacturing technology, or related.
  • Working knowledge of automated manufacturing equipment, process development, and manufacturing system design.
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical, electrical, and automation design documents.
  • Desired proficiency with cost estimation methods, pricing models, and cycle-time/MTM analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills for process modeling, throughput evaluation, and cost breakdown creation.
  • Effective communication and technical presentation skills for both internal and customer-facing interactions.
  • Ability to create structured, accurate, and comprehensive quote documentation.
  • Experience with cycle-time analysis, MTM, and process modeling.

Why You'll Enjoy This Role
This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of complex automation projects across multiple industries.
