Maintenance Automation Technician
Job Description:
THE ROLE:
Our site in Chaska, MN is seeking a Maintenance Automation Technician to join our team.
The Maintenance Technician performs a variety of tasks and assignments including the maintenance and repair of production equipment and facility infrastructure. The focus will be on equipment uptime and reliability, preventative maintenance, safety, troubleshooting, controls and automation equipment, and process improvements.
HOURS FOR THIS POSITION ARE 4PM-2AM WED-SAT OR SUN-WED
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
  • Repairs, replaces and tests of electrical circuits on equipment. Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments. Replace faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems. Mounts motors and completes circuits per diagram specifications.
  • Stays current with all codes and attends Entegris training.
  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Inspects completed work for conformance with job specifications and safety requirements.
  • Serves as a primary resource for controls and automation maintenance issues.
  • Utilizes the computerized work order system. Enters information and complete all required documentation thoroughly and timely.
  • Focuses on key business processes to influence customer satisfaction, waste elimination, growth, cost effectiveness and product quality.
  • Follows standard Engineering and Technology practices and procedures. Participates in Entegris' continual quality improvement process and dedication to customer satisfaction.
  • Completes miscellaneous tasks as assigned.
  • Maintains a clean and safe work area. Wears required Personal Protective Equipment. Performs duties in a safe manner and observes approved safety procedures.
  • Communicates potential hazards immediately to supervisor and identifies and corrects potential unsafe conditions.
  • Robot PM's - inspection of pneumatic and electrical connections and lines for functionality.
  • Inspection of in-house built equipment and associated PMs.
  • Replace components and adjust sensors when required.
  • Adjust production floor robot program points and troubleshoot robot functional issues that arise.
  • Troubleshoot and adjust in-house built and vendor custom built equipment issues pertaining to sensors, motor drives, vision systems, PLC and HMI issues.
  • Network communication to and from equipment - troubleshooting and repair of issues.
  • Support Tooling setup after mold tear down for service or cleaning by adjusting core servo homing adjustment.
  • Add new variant part numbers to Automated equipment.
  • Update test inspection programs for new variant parts and or test spec updates to current equipment.
  • Update data output info to CamLine for data collection of current equipment.
  • Preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Connection of production floor robots to RJG for bad part quarantine.
  • Clear all robots and automated equipment for safe re-start after a power outage or shut down.
  • Work with and support robotics, Electrical (AC/DC), hydraulics, pneumatic, servo motors, sensors, HMI interfaces, and complex mechanical equipment.
  • Provide support for PLC, HMI, servo and stepper drives, Fanuc, Sepro and Star Robots and vision systems.

WHAT WE SEEK:
  • Two-year technical degree (controls, automation, robotics, electrical, mechanical - electrical, etc) (or) equivalent experience and training in a manufacturing environment.
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Knowledge of Solid works or CAD or equivalent, Word, Excel.
  • Requires high degree of mechanical aptitude and creative problem solving.
  • Requires hands on electrical experience.
  • Requires advanced troubleshooting skills.
  • Require self-motivation and self-direction.
  • Ability to work occasionally on weekends and overtime as required.
  • Ability to work occasionally on call.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Ability to train and support co-workers.
