Automation Project Manager – Building Automation Systems (BAS)
Salary: $110,000-$120,000 + Bonus

Position Overview

The Automation Project Manager is responsible for leading the successful execution of building automation system (BAS) projects from kickoff through closeout. This role serves as the central point of coordination between internal teams, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients, with full accountability for project scope, schedule, budget, and quality.

The ideal candidate brings a strong blend of BAS technical knowledge, project management expertise, and people leadership, with the ability to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.


Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Coordination
  • Develop and manage detailed project plans, including schedules, budgets, resource allocation, and milestone tracking
  • Coordinate closely with engineering, field operations, subcontractors, and suppliers to maintain clear priorities and efficient workflows
  • Ensure projects comply with technical, safety, and operational standards
Client Relationship Management
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients throughout the project lifecycle
  • Lead project status meetings, manage change requests, and proactively address client needs
  • Build long-term client relationships through responsive communication and consistent delivery
Technical Oversight
  • Review design documents, submittals, drawings, and specifications for accuracy and completeness
  • Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support to engineering and field teams
  • Stay current on BAS technologies, trends, and best practices to ensure modern, high-performing system designs
Budget & Schedule Management
  • Monitor project costs, enforce cost controls, and mitigate scope creep
  • Track progress against milestones and adjust schedules to keep projects on track
  • Prepare financial updates and project status reports for leadership and clients
Team Collaboration & Leadership
  • Partner across departments to foster a collaborative, results-driven environment
  • Mentor and support field staff, reinforcing accountability and professional development
  • Promote a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and knowledge sharing
Quality Assurance & Site Oversight
  • Conduct site visits to verify installation accuracy, code compliance, and quality standards
  • Enforce quality control, risk management, and safety procedures
  • Oversee system commissioning, project closeout, client training, and documentation
  • Perform other duties as assigned
