Position Summary

UG2 is seeking a dynamic and strategic Vice President of Finance & Shared Services to support and partner with operations across the Central, Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast regions. This role will serve as a key financial leader, driving performance, supporting growth, and ensuring financial discipline across a geographically dispersed, labor-intensive services business.

The ideal candidate brings deep financial expertise along with experience in facility management services, janitorial, security, staffing, or other labor-driven service industries.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Financial Leadership

  • Partner with regional and operational leaders to drive financial performance, profitability, and growth initiatives
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic decision-making
  • Lead financial planning and analysis (FP&A) across multiple regions
  • Ensure alignment between financial planning, accounting results, and overall company performance

Corporate Accounting & Controller Oversight

  • Lead and develop the Corporate Controller and accounting organization (direct report)
  • Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
  • Ensure preparation of GAAP-compliant financial statements and related reporting
  • Oversee technical accounting matters, including revenue recognition, accruals, and policy development
  • Maintain and enhance internal controls environment (including audit readiness)
  • Serve as primary liaison with external auditors and manage audit process end-to-end
  • Drive improvements in close efficiency, standardization, and automation

Operational Finance & Business Partnership

  • Act as a trusted advisor to regional leadership teams across Central, Midwest, Northeast, Mid-Atlantic, and Southeast markets
  • Develop and monitor KPIs related to labor efficiency, margin performance, and contract profitability

Financial Planning & Analysis

  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning processes
  • Analyze variances and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting and analytics

Labor & Cost Management

  • Manage and optimize labor cost structures, including wage, overtime, and staffing models
  • Ensure alignment between operational performance and financial outcomes
  • Partner with HR and operations on workforce planning and productivity initiatives

Process Excellence & Automation

  • Drive continuous improvement across finance operations, with a focus on highvolume, repeatable processes
  • Identify opportunities for automation in time capture, payroll, billing, AP, and financial close activities
  • Reduce manual work, cycle times, and error rates while improving service reliability to both our internal and external customers

Compliance, Controls & Risk Management

  • Ensure strong internal controls across all financial processes, including payroll, billing, accounts payable and financial reporting
  • Maintain compliance with multistate regulations, labor laws, union agreements, and client audit requirements
  • Support internal and external audits related to finance operations

Team Leadership

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional finance team
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (MBA or CPA preferred)
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience
  • Prior experience in facility management, janitorial, security, staffing, or other labor-intensive service industries strongly preferred
  • Proven ability to partner with operations in a multi-site, geographically distributed environment
  • Strong expertise in FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling
  • Deep understanding of labor cost drivers and contract-based business models
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience leading and developing high-performing teams
