What You Will Be Doing (Daily Responsibilities)
  • Serve as a dedicated Field Automation Specialist, managing service calls, system start-ups, and client interactions across Wisconsin and Northern Illinois using a company-provided vehicle.
  • Design and program custom control systems from scratch across various major PLC and HMI platforms (not limited to a single brand).
  • Perform on-site control troubleshooting and wiring for electrical panels, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), DC controllers, and automated safety devices.
  • Install, commission, and retrofit automation machinery, including panel builds, light screens/scanners, safety controllers, and cobot/robotic integrations.
  • Interpret electrical schematics and blueprints to solve complex field challenges and ensure high system reliability and safety.
  • Maintain strong, direct client communications, serving as a helpful, professional technical partner to solve downtime issues efficiently.
What We Are Looking For (Requirements & Qualifications)
  • 2+ years of practical industrial automation experience, including writing PLC programs from scratch and configuring HMI screens across multiple platforms.
  • Strong foundational expertise in electrical systems, panel wiring, VFDs, and reading/interpreting complex electrical schematics and drawings.
  • Education & Experience Balance: Open to candidates without a degree if backed by solid hands-on experience, or candidates with an Associate Degree (A.S.) in Automated Systems / Controls / Mechatronics.
  • High autonomy and self-management, with the ability to handle dynamic service schedules and customer-facing interactions professionally.
  • Loyalty and commitment, demonstrating a reliable work history with minimal job-hopping.
  • Proximity & Requirements: Must reside within a 45-minute drive of Johnson Creek/Jefferson, WI, possess a valid driver's license, and hold US Citizenship or a Green Card.
