Job description

Engineer / Detailer / Draftsman

Position Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer / Detailer / Draftsman to join our growing team. This role is responsible for creating detailed fabrication, shop, and erection drawings while supporting engineering, manufacturing, and construction operations. The ideal candidate will possess strong drafting and design capabilities, experience with structural and mechanical systems, and proficiency in industry-leading CAD software.

This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, collaborating closely with engineers, project managers, production teams, and field personnel to ensure designs are accurate, buildable, and delivered on schedule.

Key Responsibilities

Create detailed shop drawings for fabrication and manufacturing.

Develop clear and accurate erection drawings for field installation and construction teams.

Produce conceptual layouts and design drawings for customer proposals and project planning.

Generate 3D models and detailed drawings using Revit and other CAD platforms.

Interpret engineering specifications, architectural drawings, and project requirements.

Coordinate with engineering, production, and project management teams to ensure design accuracy and constructability.

Revise and update drawings based on engineering changes, customer feedback, and field conditions.

Assist with design development and problem-solving throughout the project lifecycle.

Maintain drawing standards, document control, and project records.

Support continuous improvement efforts related to drafting, detailing, and design processes.

Required Qualifications

Proficiency with Revit.

Experience creating fabrication, shop, and erection drawings.

Ability to produce conceptual layouts and construction documents.

Strong understanding of engineering drawings, drafting standards, and detailing practices.

Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications

Proficiency with Tekla Structures.

Experience with Autodesk Inventor.

Structural engineering background or experience with structural steel detailing.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license or ability to obtain licensure.

Mechanical engineering experience or strong mechanical aptitude.

Experience supporting manufacturing, fabrication, construction, or industrial projects.
