Job description

At International Auto Processing, LLC, the Painter will complete final prep, spray painting and clear coating on vehicles as assigned.

Essential Duties:                                     

  • In completing final prep, inspect vehicles for body damage.
  • Fine line tape the damaged vehicle or part.
  • Properly clean the surface to be painted and tack it off.
  • Mix paint for acceptable color match.
  • Observe proper safety pre-cautions, spray paint prepped surface, insuring adequate coverage and acceptable color match.
  • Blend paint to meet manufacturer's quality standards.
  • Clean equipment and maintain proper working order.
  • Complete each job in an efficient manner, observing the highest quality standards of each manufacturer, so that the work will not have to be repeated.
  • Complete reports on each job as required by the manufacturer.
  • Maintain inventory of paint supplies on an ongoing basis. Notify manager when additional supplies are needed.
  • Attend training as needed to maintain and improve skills and knowledge.
  • Assist in training and orienting new employees and co-workers as requested.
  • Suggest methods for improving operations in the department as appropriate.
  • Ensure a spotter is present when backing up vehicles.
  • Maintain a clean and hazard free work environment and follow all policies and procedures regarding safety.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • SHIFT: Monday – Friday 7:00am – 3:30pm with possibility of overtime and/or weekend work as directed by business need.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
  • Valid US Driver’s License
  • Obtain and maintain a Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC Badge) issued by the Department of Homeland Security
  • Experience operating automatic and straight (manual) shift vehicles

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal
  • Formal auto body training or certification
  • Proven problem-solving abilities
  • Demonstrate commitment to safety
  • Deadline and detail oriented

Physical Working Attributes:

  • Stand walk, bend, stoop, kneel crouch, and or crawl throughout the shift
  • Lift, push, and or pull up to 90lbs
  • Work with various solvents and paints
  • Use hands and finger(s) to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls
  • Work in shop environment with high noise level and small ventilated painting booth
  • Wear PPE (personal protective equipment) including but not limited to gloves, goggles, protective coveralls, respirator, etc.
  • Work in varying climates as well as be exposed to outdoor elements such as heat, cold, rain, and other conditions
