Job description

Subaru of Portland, a dealership part of the O'Brien Auto Group, is searching for an individual to be a Body Shop Hourly Technician. Subaru of Portland prides itself as the #1 volume Subaru Dealer in the Portland Zone with one of the largest service facilities in the Pacific Northwest.

We have a great deal of repeat and referral business because our employees provide a high level of customer service and professionalism. Subaru of Portland is a growth-oriented organization with a focus on promoting from within.

You will be provided with training and mentoring to prepare you for your role and continued learning to grow your skills. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of an established company in collision repair and take your career to the next level. We're looking for someone who can work and communicate well with our body shop painters and technicians.

This position pays $21.00 per hour.

Responsibilities will include but are not limited:

  • Performing pre- and post-repair washes, details, replacement of parts and other minor repairs.
  • Delivering parts and mirror matching parts
  • Maintain and upkeep shop workspace
  • Closing and opening procedures with body shop
  • Moving vehicles between shops and supporting shop.
  • Must be a self-starter, motivated, and someone that wants to work in a team environment and build a career in the Automotive Body Business with a great company.
  • Competitive pay based on your skills, training, and experience level.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Regular attendance is essential.
  • Work in cooperative, positive & professional manner with all personnel in the company.
  • Treat members of the public and customers in a courteous and non-discriminatory manner.  Maintain professional demeanor while at work.
  • Must conform to the company policy regarding non-discrimination and harassment.

Equipment/Machines/Tools Typically Used: Pressure washers, steam cleaning equipment, water hoses and buckets, sponges, polishers, cloth rags, hand-held squeeze bottles, and mechanics hand tools. Rubber gloves to be worn as required.

Chemicals: Numerous chemicals are used/handled on a frequent basis. Employee will be trained by their supervisor on the safe handling/use of these substances. Employee will always follow all safety directives.

Physical Demands: Intermittent standing, walking, sitting, stooping, kneeling, and crouching. Lifting of 50lbs or less on an occasional basis and carrying of 25lbs or less on a frequent basis. Frequent pushing and pulling, twisting, and turning of trunk, reaching, and handling of objects, occasional climbing, balancing, and crawling.

Candidates for this position must possess a valid Driver’s License and maintain an acceptable driving record in accordance with company policy. Employment offers are contingent upon successful completion of a comprehensive background screening and motor vehicle record review.
