Essential Functions:
Repairs and maintains automotive machinery
Examples of Duties
Examples of Work:
UNDER GENERAL DIRECTION
Overhauls motors on cars and trucks
Secures parts for vehicles
Makes service calls in the field
Diagnoses defects in automotive equipment
Corrects break downs or problems concerning automotive equipment
Corrects defective automotive equipment
Performs related work
Minimum Requirements
Physical Requirement & Working Conditions:
Meets regular and punctual attendance standards and any special needs of the position as determined by management, including mandatory overtime and performing related work
Spends prolonged periods of time sitting, standing, walking, carrying, stooping and climbing
Lifts and carries items weighing up to 100 pounds in a team setting
Sufficient vision and hearing are needed to detect and correct mechanical problems
Minimum Requirements:
Completion of a recognized apprenticeship program
Mechanic
Two years of experience in mechanical work in a commercial garage
Other Minimums:
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Equivalency:
Additional experience may be substituted for the training requirement
